The English midfielder Jordan Henderson draws inspiration from the legendary Paul Gascoigne`s goal against Scotland at Euro 96 and says that the forthcoming duel with `the neighbors` may never be normal.
Twenty years ago, Gascoigne made a fantastic catch, when he passed over Colin Hendry with his left foot and immediately shot right out of the air to ensure success with 2:0.
`Obviously this is a huge game. Given his history, it is clear that this is not a normal match. We watched quite a few of our past matches analyzed by football predictions against Scotland and there are some times that I can remember, mostly the Paul Gascoigne at Euro 96.`, said Henderson.
`The guys know how important this clash for us is, and not just because it is England vs. Scotland, but also because it is important for our ranking for the World Cup.`, added the midfielder, who also called Gareth Southgate to remain the national coach on a permanent basis.
`The manager has been doing brilliantly, once he got the opportunity to work with us and we are all supporting him. We learned a lot at practice and believe that we can play well and win.`, said Henderson.
