Sharapova dropped out at the start of the Doha tournament

Maria Sharapova, the 5th Grand Slam champion, dropped out of Doha Qatar after dropping 6:4, 4:6, 3:6 against Romanian qualifier Monica Niculescu. The Russian, for which it was the first match after the loss in the third round of the Australian Open, started better matches and broke into the first game. Niculescu quickly returned it, but Sharapova replied with a counter-strike for 3:2. The Russians took the next 5:2 lead, then missed three of the eight-game setups to allow Niculescu to reduce the game to 3:5. However, Sharapova managed to close the first set with 6:4 on his next move.

In the second set, the ex-leader in the world rankings led a 3:2 game with a break but in the next game Niculescu managed to get it back. Reading turned the turn of the match and the Romanian started to play more and more stable, making a new break for 6:4. The decisive third set began with a rapid 1:1 breakthrough, followed by several successive games by soccer predictions in which the tennis players managed to take their lead. Niculescu, however, made the decisive blow in the eighth game, and in the ninth he finished the match with four consecutive points. In the next round Niculescu will play with the winner of the match between Magdalena Ribarikova (Slovakia) and Fatma Al Nabhani (Oman). A place in the second round of the tournament was also found by Russians Anna Blinkova and Ekaterina Makarova, Romanian Mihaela Buzarnescu, Chinese In-In Dwan, American Sissy Bailey and Slovakian Dominica Cibulkova. The prize pool of the Doha tournament is $ 3, 173, 000.
