The starting five players for the NBA All-Star Game, which will take place in Salt Lake City on February 19, have been announced.
Lakers star LeBron James topped Western voting and earned another All-Star nod, his 19th in a row. This is a record streak in NBA history; the 38-year-old basketball player surpassed lake legend Kobe Bryant (17 calls in a row).
James was named to the All-Star Game in every season of his NBA career except his rookie season. Bryant made the All-Star team in every season of his career except his rookie year in the league via football record tips (96/97) and his third season (98/99), when the season was shortened due to a lockout and All-Star Weekend was not held.
James also tied Lakers center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar`s record for being called to the All-Star Game. This match will be the 19th for the Ozernik player; this has only been achieved in history by a great big man. However, Jabbar was unable to perform at the All-Star Game in 1973. Thus, LeBron could become the first player in history to directly participate in all 19 meetings.
