Wenger defended Ospina

The manager of Arsenal, Arsene Wenger defended the goalkeeper David Ospina, who made a mistake fatal to the second hit of Olympiakos at home with a 2:3 loss of the Greek rival in the Champions League. The own goal was scored by Ospina, once dropped in the door directly from a corner kick of Konstantinos Fortunis.
The Colombian pursued by Wenger for the starting lineup in front of Petr Cech. `No one is infallible not goalie. This could have happened to Petr Cech. I`m not going to explain my choice for any decision you make. I carry the responsibility. It`s easy to say that we shouldn`t have played Ospina. He participated in 19 games last season and 14 of them made a goal, and last week against Tottenham made a fantastic match.`, said the French expert.
`I lost the game adviced by baseball-predictions because of this error. The key point was that after the second time you`ve matched their very quickly made the third goal. If the result were kept 2:2 for five minutes, I`m sure we would have won the match. It`s hard to accept that we lost, but the reason is the lack of concentration at certain points in the defense plan. They had four hits and scored three goals.`, he added.
Wenger believes that Arsenal still have chances to qualify for the semifinals, despite losing their first two games. `We`re in a tough situation, but we still have chances. We have to beat Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiakos here as a guest and to get something from Bayern in the next two games. Certainly we are not dropped and we can qualify ahead.`, said Wenger.
The coach of Olympiakos Marco Silva expressed satisfaction with the victory. `I am very happy with the result, because the match was very tough. Olympiakos had never beaten the English land and the players had to show the best of themselves, which they did. I think we deserved this success, because we worked hard to achieve it. It was important that we put first, and then rapidly retaliated after the countervailing goals of Arsenal. Physical training was the key today. We were running a lot, but left us forces to fight to the end and keep the result.`, said Silva.
